Dieter Riesle was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, but immigrated to the United States in 1985. Before becoming an actor, Mr. Riesle pursued a career as a principal ballet dancer for 20 years of his life.
Following his career as a dancer, he studied acting with Lloyd Richards, Earle Gister and Jodie Lynne McClintock in New York and now performs in film, television, voice-overs, plays and musicals.
He can be seen playing a German Gala Scientist in the upcoming movie The Avengers (2012) directed by Joss Whedon to be released by Paramount Pictures.
In 2010, Dieter portrayed a Swiss Bank Official in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, directed by Oliver Stone.
In September 2010, Dieter also played a German Art Buyer in Some Day This Pain Will Be Useful To You, directed by Roberto Faenza.
In June 2009, he originated the role of Dieter, Key Servant to Boris in the U.S.A. Network series Royal Pains - both pilot and recurring. 2010 and 2011 are his second and third season with Royal Pains (18 episodes).
Also in 2009, he played Otto in Last Letters from Monte Rosa(2009), directed by Ari Taub.
In 2008, he was directed by Spike Lee playing a German P.O.W. in Miracle at St. Anna.
In 2006 he portayed Herr Franck in The Good Shepherd (2006) opposite Matt Damon and Martina Gedeck, directed by Robert De Niro.
Mr. Riesle earned a B.A. in International Criminal Justice (summa cum laude) and an M.S. in Forensic Computing from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, in New York.
Mr. Riesle holds dual citizenship, both U.S. and German.
